Talking Dateline: The Family Plot

Keith Morrison joins Josh Mankiewicz to discuss his episode, “The Family Plot,” about the murder of Matt Restelli, who was lured from California to Utah and shot to death inside his mother-in-law’s home. Josh and Keith dig into the twisted details of the case, the mistakes that quickly unraveled the family’s story, and the powerful hold prosecutors said mastermind Tracey Grist had over her children. They also highlight the striking similarities to another Dateline case, one Tracey herself had been searching online before Matt’s murder. Plus, Josh plays a podcast-exclusive clip from Tracey’s police interview the night Matt was killed. And Josh and Keith answer your questions from social media and reflect on 35 seasons of Dateline.
